WanderBite (“we”, “us”, or “the app”) is an AI-powered travel and food companion that suggests local dishes, drinks, and group dining options based on your taste profile. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it.

2. Information we collect

• Account information: email address and display name when you create an account.
• Food profile: home location, favorite foods, cuisines, spice tolerance, adventurousness, dietary restrictions, and favorite drinks that you provide during onboarding.
• Search queries: the locations and food cravings you enter to generate suggestions.
• Group activity: circles you join, group decision votes, and trips you create or join.
• Saved and disliked foods: dishes you save to your bucket list or mark as disliked.
• Device and usage data: approximate location (when you grant it), device type, and interactions collected automatically to improve suggestions and app performance.
• Subscription information: WanderBite+ subscription status and transaction data processed by our payment provider, Stripe.

3. How we use your information

• To generate personalized food, drink, and restaurant suggestions.
• To power group voting and trip planning features.
• To remember your saved foods and avoid showing disliked items.
• To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
• To provide and maintain your WanderBite+ subscription.
• To improve our suggestions, models, and app features over time.

4. AI processing

We use AI services (such as large language models) to generate food suggestions and group recommendations. Your taste profile and search queries are sent to these providers solely to produce your results and are not used by those providers to train their models on your data beyond what is necessary to return the response.

5. Sharing your data

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers that help run the app:

• AI providers to generate suggestions.
• Stripe to process subscription payments securely.
• Map and restaurant services to geocode locations and find nearby options.
• Advertising partners (such as Google AdSense) to display ads, subject to their respective privacy policies.

Within a circle or trip, the members you invite can see the group activity you contribute (votes, suggestions, and trip plans).

6. Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the features you use. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Profile screen — deletion is permanent and irreversible.

7. Your rights

• Access, correct, or update your food profile any time.
• Request export or deletion of your data.
• Withdraw consent for location-based features via your device settings.
• Cancel your WanderBite+ subscription at any time.

8. Children’s privacy

WanderBite is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a minor has registered, contact us and we will remove the account.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your data. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
